Music

Although complex in execution, music is simple in definition and is merely a sequence of sound played out in a particular rhythm, but it is interesting that such as simple art form can create such a wide range of emotions and responses.

It is also used in all walks of life, from birthday parties throughout our lives to the summer rock festivals in locations across the country. We hear it in the movies, on the radio, on television, in clubs, cafés, shops, from other people’s mp3 players, in theatres and onstage in many of the famous musicals to grace the live experience.

We also hear it from seeking it out ourselves, whether it is by learning of new bands on the radio or reading into more obscure artists on the internet, there is a world of music out there, some of which we hear none stop and some of which we will never experience.

And the fact that it keeps up to date with the latest technology means that it will only continue to flourish and develop for many years to come. Technology only serves it to its advantage, with the internet providing a valuable source of new music constantly, whether it is the local band advertising themselves on social networking sites or online retailers allowing people to order or download music in the comfort of their own homes. Then there’s the wealth of information online, allowing people to research and find out more about their favourite artists that previous generations would have found impossible.

But what about music itself? It has only progressed with technology as well as more modern instruments become as important as the classic trumpets and guitars. Nowadays we have electric guitars and keyboards and music can even be created on computers and laptops. Modern recording techniques also allow us to capture bands’ performances and play them back as though they are in the room with us.

There’s so much music out there and today there has never been a better time to attempt to find so much of it. Smaller recording artists can now be found in parts of the world it would otherwise have been impossible One can only imagine what the future could bring to the world of music.
